Full Description
Local residents pointed out the "wart stone", thast they remembered from childhood over 30 yrs ag. Lying largely buried in turf to the NW of the chapel. (NB this might be what the RCAHMS referred to as the old font). A large boulder formed to make a crude round bowl, with a cut concavity 15-20 cm deep in top.
Local tradition is that cures could be had for warts by dipping them in the water of the stone. Interestingly on the date of the visit, during a long dry spell there was still water in the bottom. See photos - HAW 8/2003
