Full Description

Local residents believe this stone to represent a 'Beltane Stone' and would like it to be re-erected. There are reports that the stone is being damaged by vehicles.
(KC 05/04/2005)

A large boulder apparently lying along its long axis and set into the ground has been identified as a possible fallen standing stone close to the cairn at Gask. The stone was identified by Dougie Scott. Clearance has been undertaken along the road verge to benefit drivers sight-lines, leaving the stone lying on the inside of a bend between the road (B861) and the fenceline. The stone also lies just off the line of a stone dyke and may have once formed part of the foundations for this dyke- although its large size may suggest otherwise.
