Full Description

A probably post-medieval building. It is approximately 240m north-west of Lower Rumster. A small building complex is shown here by the OS on the 1st Edition (1871) map where it is labelled 'Ditches of Forse'. By the 2nd Edition (1906) only one building remained and it is shown unroofed and is not labelled. It is adjacent to a long pond labelled as a mill dam (see MHG. <1>

The site was photographed by Pat & Lawrence Message in 2/2002. They also produced a measured plan of the building. The Highland Archaeology Challenge. <2>
