Full Description

NG25NE 16.23 2712 5584.

Situated to the E of the public road to Waternish, at the S side of the crofting township, this farmstead comprises at least one building and an enclosure; the building is shown as roofed on the 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey map of 1880 (Island of Skye &c., Inverness-shire, 1880, sheet xv), and several cultivation ridges showing an asymmetrical profile to the S and E. The building of two compartments measures 8.9m from E to W by 3.8m transversely within rubble-faced walls spread to 1.5m in thickness and 1m in height and an entrance in the N side. The S wall has a second skin, and thus the thickness varies from 1.2m to 1.5m and the breadth accordingly, an indication of rebuilding. There is also the trace of a building, presumably earlier, to the S. (WAT90 651-2) Visited by RCAHMS (PJD) 20 November 1990.
