Full Description
An investigation of the site revealed a small burn located just to the S of the tramway embankement. The course of the burn follows this embankment E and flows into the Brora River . The well is locally known as the 'Hen's well' and is shown as the 'Crawcrask Well' on the OS 1st Editon Map. The well is mentioned by F Maclennan, in his series of articles entitled 'Clyne Place Names' in the Northern Times, between the 1950's and 70's.

A 'well' is depicted on the OS 1st Editon Map. It is said that the well had healing powers and people would go there to drink the water and be cured from different ailments, including hangovers and warts.
