Full Description
A round-angled rectangular building, 8.50m NE-SW by 4.50m, is situated on the S side of the A 861 road on a S-facing level plain, below Tom na Droma Sleamhain and overlooking Loch Linnhe. It corresponds to the unroofed building, attached to a field wall, depicted on the OS 1st Ed. 6” Map. The single compartment house, built mostly of pink granite, is best-preserved at the N and S corners, which survive to heights of 1.45m and 1.40m respectively. Elsewhere, the wall is 0.80m thick and 0.80m high. An entrance opens through the SE side onto a terrace, 1m wide and 1.20m high.
An enclosure wall of mostly single large boulders, 1m thick and 0.40m high, abuts the N corner and runs westwards for 23m until it is truncated by the road.
