Full Description

Clashneach was positioned to the west of Loch Borralie between the loch and the Kyle of Durness, map reference NC 378666, in the parish of Durness.

Today; there is very little to see of the now abandoned township, apart from grass covered foundations, of what appears to have been a collection of houses that made up the township of Clashneach.

------
It is possible that some of the township remains are already recorded under the following SMR numbers:

NC36NE0064 - Enclosure, Kiln and Longhouse
NC36NE0109 - Lime kiln

A full survey of the area needs to be undertaken to determine the extent of Clashneach township and its associated features.
