Full Description

One roofed building and 'wells' are marked on the first edition Ordnance Survey map (of c. 1870) and annotated 'Tighnabruich'. The structure is visible on a 1946 aerial photograph as a roofless 2-celled building. Current mapping shows a 2-celled structure with an extension to the south-west and one further small rectangular structure to the south.

The site was visited as part of a Water Mains reconnaissaance survey (Stuart Farrell 2004).

(KC 07/2004)

In November 2008, a session about the HER was held with the Young Archaeologists Club. The children were invited to bring along photographs of sites near them. Kenna MacDonald from Inverness brought along a photograph of the ruins her great-grandfather's house. <2>
