Full Description
Primary school consisting originally of school teacher’s house with attached schoolroom behind, probably opened around 1873. The school teacher also had use of the schoolmaster’s croft, the surrounding land defined by drystone walling. Formerly outside toilets to the north, now demolished. The whole building is now used for classrooms
The school only closed for about 9 years in the 1950s when the last pupil of the old crofting generation left, re-opening around 1964.
