Visited by OS.

The route of the military road initially traverses an area of afforestation on a rough metalled track which has several early culverts and stretches of stone revettments. From NH 8972 1971 to NH 8293 1986 the road becomes a grass track 5m wide running between stone field boundaries. There is some surface damage caused by farm vehicles. Further W, along the incline to the S of the Allt Lorgy, there are considerable problems along the track due to water and vehicle erosion. To the S of the route is a functioning drainage ditch and in the E section is a stretch of stone dyke to the N of the track and a series of bank runs along the S. Further W loose stony debris covers a series of wooden water bars which have been inserted within the track fabric, but these are probably only partially effective in an attempt to channel water off the road.
M Logie (Highland Council) 1997; NMRS MS 1007/2.

From 8990 1500 to NH 8999 1523. MR 2 (formerly Lin 501 [part of]).

This earlier stretch of the military road is also traceable in NH81NE.
W Taylor 1976; J and A Baker 1982.

NH 8990 1500 to NH 8991 1507 modern track on line.
NH 8991 1507 to NH 8999 1523 Wade's road well preserved track c.4m wide between flanking banks.
