NH70SW 14.05 NH 7200 0007 Farmstead

A township (NH70SW 14.01) is situated in the rough grassland to the NE of Strone. About two-thirds of the buildings had fallen out of use by the date of the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1872, sheets ci and cii). A cluster of buildings to the SE of Strone Cottage (NH70SW 14.02) is shown as roofed on the 1st edition map and may represent a later phase of settlement, while the farmstead (NH70SW 14.03) to the SW of Strone Cottage is probably nineteenth century in date. The mill (NH70SW 14.04) is not depicted on the 1st edition map and may belong with the earlier township.
