There are twenty-two shieling-huts on the upper reaches of the Allt Shuas Glas Choire, at the point where two tributaries join it from the NE and the valley opens out into a natural grass-grown amphitheatre. Apart from three that lie alongside the main burn, the huts are stacked one above the other on the hillside adjacent to the two tributaries. They range in size from 2.3m to 5.8m in length by between 1.7m and 2.4m in breadth within faced-rubble footings 0.6 to 0.8m in thick, and standing between 0.2m and 0.5m high. In some cases the stone footings form the inner face of a bank of turf. Most entrances lie on the S side, occasionally towards one end, but five are entered from one end. Outshots are evident on one side in three or perhaps four cases (KING95 172, 179, 185, possibly 178), two of which are stepped-up from the main building. Two sets of two buildings display evidence of sequential construction (KING95 175-6 and 181-2).
The site is depicted as seven unroofed buildings on the 1st edition of the OS (Inverness-shire 1872, sheet lxxxvi), and three buildings are shown on the Gordon Estate Map of 1771 (SRO RHP 1835/2) which annotates the site 'shealing of Glenbanchor'.
