Traces of two grass-grown mounds are visible in the field 300m NNW of Tarbert farmstead, immediately downslope from the enclosing field-wall. They measure 6.6m from E to W by 4m and 4m in diameter respectively, but have been reduced to little more than amorphous spreads of earth. Both have been damaged extensively by rabbit burrowing, and, in the larger this has revealed several stones in its core.
This damage has also yielded a substantial quantity of pottery sherds, collected from three seasons of fieldwork (1994-6), including rims and sherds of Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date; one rim sherd has a stab impression, another is decorated with two rows of impressed twisted cord, while a body sherd bears incised lines and stabs.
