Full Description

A walkover survey in advance of a proposed afforestation scheme at Glen Spean was carried out by the Centre for Archaeology in 1998. A 40 m length of boulder wall ran southwest-northeast across the neck of a meander on the south bank of Allt Glas Dhoire. It was better preserved towards its northeast end, where it was c. 1 m wide and up to 1 m high and revetted into the face of a river terrace. Towards its southwest end the wall had been damaged by tree growth. The wall appeared to have acted as a levee rather than as a field boundary. <1>
