Full Description

During a desk-based assessment exercise in advance of a proposed afforestation scheme at Glen Spean by the Centre for Archaeology in 1998 a drystone wall, up to 1 m wide and 1 m high, was seen to define the boundary of an enclosure recorded on Ordnance Survey first and second map editions. A drainage ditch, up to 2 m wide and now largely silted up, ran outside the wall. The wall appeared to have defined a former limit of cleared and drained infield to the south-east of Bohenie settlement. It had been superseded by the post and wire fence forming the limit of the survey area in this sector. <1>
