Two circular grass-grown mounds, possibly the remains of huts, and an enclosure lie at the top of the cliffs at the NE extremity of Canna. The more westerly of the two mounds (NG 2784 0625) measures 5.2m in diameter and lies at the foot of a short slope immediately to the SW of a drain. The second (NG 2790 0625) lies below a rocky knoll some 55m to the E and is slightly larger, measuring 6.1m in diameter. The enclosure (NG 2794 0622) is situated in an area of poorly drained ground 38m to the SE, on the opposite side of the knoll; it measures 11.5m from NNW to SSE by 9m transversely within a low grass-grown earthen bank 2.5m in thickness and contains faint traces of lazy-bed cultivation (NG20NE 110).
(Canna 337-8, 944).
