Full Description

NH63NE 22 697 375.

Centred at NH 697 375, on a S-facing hillside, is a field system which has recently been ploughed through and afforested. It is defined by stone clearance heaps and occasional lynchets. Details of most of the fields have been obscured by the ploughing, but one or two visible as terraces where the slopes steepens measure c. 25.0m by c. 20.0m. No huts are evident.
Visited by OS (A A) 23 April 1970.

A number of what appear to be clearance cairns and a possible dyke/lynchet can be seen on 1999-2001 and 2009 APs in the field to the south of the area indicated on the old SMR map. The polygon has been amended accordingly. However, much of the former area woild appear to have gone as a result of forestry works. IS-L 20/06/2016
