NH41NE 9.01 4940 1700 to 4999 1979 and 4999 1990 to 4993 1999.

The re-alignment, constructed in 1732, is mainly overlain by the B852. However, the military line deviates from the modern route in some places. The first deviation takes the form of a grass-covered farm track between NH 4939 1708 and NH 4940 1740. There is banking visible on the W side and farm vehicles have caused some rutting and erosion of the surface. This track terminates at the remains of a stone bridge of indeterminate construction date, known as Bridge of Loin or Mill Bridge (NH41NE 7), at NH 4940 1740. On the W side of the stream, the remains of the stone abutment are still visible.
Between NH 4985 1900 and NH 4995 1932 there is a disused track which is believed to lie on the line of the military road. At the S end there are approximately 70m now metalled with gravel, but further N the track is grass-covered and overgrown, with trees encroaching onto the route in places. Although weather and water have caused a certain amount of surface erosion, generally drainage in this area is fairly good. There are few early features and no obvious military road characteristics in this stretch.
There is a disused track running from NH 4993 1950 to NH 4999 1979, which may overlay the military route: it passes through pasture to the E of the River Foyers. At NH 4993 1919 there is a square stone culvert (NH41NE 9.03).
