Creag Eilgheidh
Three stone dykes were located during survey work by Headland Archaeology Ltd in 1998 (Survey site 5). The dykes, which are partly collapsed and in places covered by trees and bracken, are located on the steep SW-facing slopes under the crags of Creag Eilgheidh.
Dyke A is a ruinous stone dyke which runs E to W across the slope, just to the east of an unnamed stream. It contains some large boulders with smaller stones filling the gaps. The dyke is 30m long, 0.6 to 0.7m wide and up to 0.8m high. It curves up slope at either end and may be the remains of a small enclosure.
Dyke B is a stone dyke which runs E to W at an angle up the slope, 100m to the south of Dyke A. It contains some big boulders with smaller stones filling in the gaps. It is 50m long, 0.7m wide and up to 0.8m high.
Dyke C is a stone dyke running straight down a very steep slope from the crags of Creag Eilgheidh, some 350m SE of Dyke B. It is 20m long, 0.6 to 0.8m wide and 0.3 to 0.5m high.
