At least five shieling-huts and an enclosure, situated on the N-facing slopes Sgeir Buidhe were noted during a pre-afforestation survey of the NE part of the Drimnin estate. They are possibly associated with the township of Poll Luachain.
There are three oval shieling-huts (NMRS MS 1012/1, no.68) at NM 5979 5689. The most substantial structure measures 3.75m by 3.25m within a 0.6m high, turf and stone bank. A second, very dilapidated structure, survives as a low mossy bank, lies 4.9m to the W. Although there is no stone visible, probing suggests that there is some below the surface. The third structure lying about 36m to the S of the first hut, measures 2.55m from N to S by 2m internally and 3.7m from N to S by 3.55m over a turf and stone bank standing up to 0.4m in height. The bank thickens on the E and W.
There are two shieling-huts about 40m downhill to the N, at NM 5988 5699. Both are distinguishable by a cover of herb-rich grassland, defined by low 0.2m high banks, on a level terrace surrounded by a mixture of heather and molina. The larger hut measures 4.4m from NE to SW by 2.37m with a 0.75m wide turf bank, and the smaller hut, situated 8.5m to the SW, measures 3.3m from N to S by 2.75m with a 0.7m wide turf wall.
At NM 5995 5680, there is a trapezoidal-shaped structure, measuring up to 8m from NW to SE by 6.6m, tucked in between two rocky knolls. It is defined by a 0.6m thick drystone-built wall, standing up to 1.1m in height, which incorporates a number of boulder outcrops. There is a 1.35m wide entrance on the N.
A further subrectangular structure is situated at NM 5982 5693. It measures 3.5m from NE to SW by 2.2m within a roughly-built, 0.75m wide, 0.3m high wall of irregular stones.
What may be a further shieling-hut is situated to the E, about 5m to the NW of the boundary bank (NM65NW 27), at NM 6014 5660. The site appears as an almost oval level area covered by herb-rich grassland, measuring 5.5m from N to S by 4.7m, amidst a vegetation dominated by molina.
