Six rectangular buildings and a series of field walls, situated on the S part of a grassy ridge with rocky outcrops, were noted during a pre-afforestation survey of Sandside Estate. Towards the W edge of the area, at NC 9642 6413, there are two rectangular buildings, each measuring 8m from NE to SW by 2m. Two lines of orthostatic walling extend off to the SE whilst there are traces of lazy-beds to the NW. To the NW, at NC 9638 6419, four placed stones form a cresentic setting measuring 7m in diameter internally.
The remaining structures are closely associated with a series of orthostatic field walls, standing up to 0.5m in height. At NC 9663 6414, there is a rectangular building, measuring 12m from NE to SW by 2m internally. Two squarish buildings, both on NE to SW alignments and measuring 3m by 2m and 6.5m by 2.5m, are situated to the SW at NC 9658 6408. Orthostatic walling defines an enclosure on the SE. A further squarish building, measuring 5m by 4.2m and attached to a dyke, is situated at NC 9667 6409.
