Gairlochy Swing Bridge over the Caledonian Canal sits on the boundary between the Parishes of Kilmonivaig and Kilmallie.
This RCAHMS photographic survey was conducted in order to enhance and augment the National Monuments Record Scotland holdings.
Visited by RCAHMS (MKO), May 1999.
This bridge is visible on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet cxxvi) and on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1903, sheet cxxvi). It is clearly marked as a swing bridge on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992) and on the OS Basic Scale raster map (ND).
