Full Description

NH63SW 31 6415 3249.

Situated 700m SE of Eastertown, on a S-facing slope, is a cairn measuring some 4.7m in diameter, defined by a kerb of contiguous small slabs on edge, surrounding a disturbed mound of rubble stones about 0.3m high, in which no structure is apparent. The kerbstones lean outwards on the slightly lower S side. It occurs with a field system (see NH63SW 60).
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS 27 February 1970.

To the SW of the cairn lie two stones, one split and fallen, 27m from the centre of the cairn, the other split and leaning, 1.2m high, and 35m from the centre of the cairn; they form an alignment with a 'notch' in the hills to the SW. To the WSW is a small upright slab, 18m from cairn centre. The cairn is small and in an unusual situation lying on a gently sloping terrace and its kerb is also of unusual construction. It is being preserved along with the stones on the basis that they are of astronomical significance.
Visited by D W Ross, November 1983.
