Canisbay Skerries are not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map but the name may be equated to the skerry that is noted ar ND 342 757, facing Canisbay on the mainland. Whittaker dates the stranding to 16 December 1892 and cites a location at Sromacan's Bay; this name is also not noted on the map.
