The Lossiemouth fishing boat Olive Leaf ran ashore at the entrance to Wick Bay, a mile from the port on Wednesday, appeared yesterday to be in danger of becoming a total loss. The 52 ton seine netter grounded on a spur of rock at Proudfoot [name: ND 381 508] on her way into the harbour.
Her crew of four were taken off by the Wick fishing boat Boy Andrew, and an attempt was made to tow the Olive Leaf clear without success. The Boy Andrew and two other Wick boats, the Good Hope and the Avalon, tried in vain again yesterday. Plans were being made for yet another bid to refloat the vessel which is hard aground and listing heavily to port.

Proudfoot Rocks are not noted as such on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map. The name presumably applies to the extensive and prominent rocks around North Head (centred ND 383 507).
