A possible plantation dyke, forming a small polygonal enclosure within the township of Carnliath on SW-facing ground overlooking Loch Sunart, was noted during a pre-afforestation survey of Rahoy Estate. The enclosure may equate with the 'small oak hill in the wintertown' costed at #2 12s 6d described in the Argyll Estate Instructions (Cregeen 1965). The Instructions suggest that they were constructed in the period 1786-7, inspected in 1788 and restocked in 1797.
