The remains of four buildings and an enclosure, situated to the S of Auchnasaul, were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey.
Three of the buildings are grouped together to the N and W of an enclosure. The N building measures 11m by 6m whilst the other two measure 9m by 6m overall. Each has a central door with a window on either the NW or SW whilst the N building also has a window in the rear wall. The buildings stand up to 2m in height in laces.
The stone-walled enclosure measures 20m by 19m. The farmstead is depicted roofed on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1880, 1900, sheet liii and sheet liii.NE). It is unnamed on the 1st edition map but named Fernish on the 2nd edition map.
A fourth structure lies a short distance to the NW. Constructed against an outcrop, it measures 3m by 3m over rubble walls standing up to 0.5m in height. It would appear to have had a corrugated asbestos roof in the recent past. The structure appears to occupy the site of a larger building depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire, 1880, sheet liii). It may represent the recent re-use of stone from this now demolished building.
