Full Description

A very large stone axe found at Drakies, near Inverness, together with a stone cup or patera found in the same place, was presented to Inverness Museum before 1827. (J Barron 1915) The axe is in Case B of the Large Room in the Museum (T Wallace 1917) (See NH64SE 19 for another axe found at Drakies)
J Barron 1915; T Wallace 1917.

In Inverness is a large polished stone axe from Inshes. As Inshes and Drakies are adjoining estates it is probable that this is one and the same axe.
Visited by OS (J L D) 23 March 1962.
