A desk-based assessment and trial trenching were carried out in April 2001 in advance of a housing development in vicinity of a number of recorded archaeological sites. Three trenches totalling 284m2 were machine-excavated, representing 5% of development area. The only archaeological feature revealed was a small corn-drying kiln utilising part of a natural mound. It is likely to be early 19th century in date and possibly related to a ruined croft situated 200m to the NNW of the site. The only finds are a sherd of white glazed pottery (not retained) and some burnt barley.
Full report lodged with Highland SMR and the NMRS.
