A mill pond and dam, forming part of the extensive water supply to the corn and barley mill at Dores, are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet xix). The mill pond and dam are upstream from a further mill pond and dam at NH 6075 3556 (NH63NW 73.01).
