Full Description

Field to the E of the scheduled area of hut circles has a large number of cairns over it. Considerable size in some cases. Lie above a river terrace some in possible rows. Ist ed OS marks the area to the West as the site of a clan battle - perhaps indicating that they might be thought to be burial cairns.
It is possible that due to their location that they might be formed, in part, of river moraines, but they have almost certainly been added to. It is possible that burials could have been inserted into the top of some of them, but no clear evidence of this so far.
Planning app to build a large house with free standing garage and landscaping in this field - HAW 11/2004
