Full Description

A post and wire fence which starts on the west bank of the Ardnastaing Burn near its debouchment into Loch Sunart and running upstream to the bridge on the public road. The fence runs from 17991 76133 to 17996 76140. This appears to be the end of the fence erected along the Ranachan march with Ardnastaing in 1871. The strainer posts, which are original, are a standard 1.2m high, 4cm square and drilled to take 6 plain wires. Double curved stays with spacers are designed to allow the wires to pass through without touching the sides.
Information supplied by J Kirby - (Ranachanmore survey, site RM001 - SMR report 1366).
