Full Description

At the top of the high water mark at the mouth of the Ardnastaing Burn is a line of huge stones up to 1.5m long, 0.5m high and 0.6m thick which mark the edge of the old road between Corran Ferry and Kinlochmoidart as shown on the Estate Plan of 1807 and the road map of 1803. This part of the old road extends from ngr: 17992 76135 to ngr: 17966 76128. The road becomes impossible to define for some 170m, then reappears as braod track 2.5m wide, with a slight revetment on the south side. It becomes obscured where it crossess a small burn. The maps show the road crossing the modern road below the double dyke (ref: ), but the route can only be guessed at.
