Full Description

Surveyed by ACFA 2003 (SMR Report 1430)
Feature shows as two large orthostats 0.7m and 0.8m parallel with each other c. 0.9m apart on a N-S axis.

Feature was noted by ACFA survey in 1995 and recorded as a cist.

Orthostas are surrounded by a scatter of stones defining a clear circle the mound created is c. 0.15m high and is 5.5m in diameter with the orthostats in the centre.

Eastern orthostat is rectangular slab measuring 1.3m long lying N-S by 0.3m thick and 0.8m high. To the west is a large boulder with a flat vertical face 1.2m long by 0.55m wide and 0.7m high. At S end of stones a slightly curved kerb of placed stones joins them.

To the south of the cairn 4 large stones form an alignment that is continued to the south after 30m for some considerable distance. This is perhaps a boundary that respects or includes the cairn.
