Torr na Craoibhe (Mound) (NR)
OS 6"map, Caithness, 2nd ed., (1907)
A large knoll, part of N side of which seems to have been removed many years ago. A house of some kind, which looked like a chapel with a fence round it, is supposed to have stood at one end, but both house and fence have long since been removed.
Name Book 1873.
An artificial, flat-topped grassy mound, 130ft diameter and 6-8ft high, is surrounded by the foundations of cottages.
RCAHMS 1911.
Torr na Craoibhe is a shapeless, grass-covered stony mound, 2.4m maximum height. The grass-covered footings of a building can be seen on top of mound.
Resurveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (N K B) 6 November 1964.

The mound is as described by the previous field investigator; whether it is wholly artificial cannot be determined. There are no diagnostic features to enable classification, but it is possibly a homestead. Visited by OS (J B) 21 September 1981.
