Full Description
Reported by workmen erecting a deer fence in 2000
Surveyed by ACFA 2003 (SMR Report 1430)
situated on steep south facing, heather covered slopes. The site lies 6m from a footpath that runs to the valley floor above the headwaters of the Inverarish burn and 10m S of a recently erected deer fence.
The cairn is 8m long N-S and 6m wide E-W. an edging of stones
rising to a max height of 0.3m delineates the S arc of the cairn
Into the Cairn a Shieling has been built 5m N-S and 2m E-W internally. The walls reaching a height of 1.3m on the west. There is an entrance in the E wall 0.8m wide. There is rubble internally that may have been a partician forming a cell at the N end.
40-50m to the west is a 2 compartement shieling lying under a large rocky out crop.
