Full Description

Nothing marked on 1st ed OS, but called "signal turret" on 2nd ed OS - HAW 6/2004

ND36SE 14 3707 6356.
A possibly earlier feature underlies an area 16.5 by 18.1m of modern construction rubble which is raised to a height of about 0.75m in some places. It adjoins a stone monument erected by Nicolson.
C E Batey 1981.

The area is completely overgrown with nettles, the growth of which testifies to some form of ground disturbance, but it is now impossible to determine from ground inspection whether an ancient structure existed here.
Visited by OS (N K B) 22 July 1982.
