Full Description

A complex dry-stone building with different phasing visible. Dimensions overall 27.0m x 16.0m. Three compartments in main body and two smaller 'cells' offset to north and south. The southern 'cell' is connected to the main structure and shows evidence of alcoves and cupboards built into the wall. Maximum surviving height of house is from about 0.2 up to about 1.7m. Seven doorways have been blocked, three left open. The 'cell' to the north is much ruined and turfed over. The building lies on the crest of a slope; drainage is poor internally with some reed growth. Attached D-shaped enclosure is dry-stone built and ruinous with traces of rigs inside.
