Full Description

NH69SE 17 679 944.
On a natural terrace on a S-facing hill slope, is a close group of four hut circles (A - D) within a minor field system. Hut 'A' is oval, measuring internally 7.5m NW-SE by 6m transversely; the remainder are circular, ranging from 7.5m ('B') to 9.5m ('C' and 'D') in diameter internally. The walls are collapsed and obscured by peat, surviving to a maximum height of 0.5m and spread to 2.5m wide. The entrance in each case is of simple form, in SE arc. In hut 'C', the best preserved, several outer facing stones, the rubble core, and the portal stones on either side of the entrance are exposed.
The field system is confined to an area of about 1 ha around the huts, and comprises some lynchets and several stone clearance heaps fringing cleared ground, but no measurable field plots can be identified.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (N K B) 3 October 1980.
