Full Description

About the year 1470 a fierce battle was fought at Corpach between the MacLeans and the Camerons. The former had been given the Cameron lands by Alexander, Lord of the Isles, after his release from Tantallon Castle, as punishment for the Camerons fighting against Donald Balloch. The Camerons were led in the battle by their chief Ailean nan Creach, and completely routed the Maclean forces. Thus these lands returned to their rightful owners.
