Full Description

Two stone axes, 2.4" by 1.7" by 0.65" and 5.25" by 2.5" by 1.15", found in a cave at "Craig Aboyne near Fort William, findspot NN 105 772, are in the possession of Miss Cassels, Tigh Beag, Corpach, Fort William. NMAS Card Index, undated.

Craig Aboyne is a knoll commanding a wide view at NN 1074 7702. There is no trace of a cave, nor any local tradition of one. Miss Cassels still has the two stone axes in her possession. They were left to her by her parents but she has no idea of their provenance, or who supplied the information to the NMAS.
