Full Description

NN28SE 9 2988 8123 and 2990 8115.

'A' (NN 2988 8123) Alleged site of chapel.
'B' (NN 2990 8116) Alleged site of chapel.
'C' (NN 2988 8115) Alleged site of dwelling house associated with chapels.
Visited by OS (J S) 23 June 1966; Information from M Conner, propretor, Glen Spean Lodge Hotel.

Mr Smith (P Smith, Glen Spean Lodge Hotel), the present proprietor of the hotel, says that the tradition of a chapel at 'A' (NN 2987 8122) is well known locally. All that is visible at the site is the foundation of a small modern building partially obscured by a pile of rubbish. Some time ago, however, Smith dug here in an attempt to locate the chapel and he found partly underlying the present foundation an older foundation oriented E-W which may have been the chapel. There is no trace and no local knowledge of structures at the other two grid references-spots, 'B' and 'C'.
Visited by OS (J M) 10 September 1974.
