Full Description

AV8 Sutherland.
Details from a site visit show that single track ditching has cut through a corn-drying kiln. This has revealed fire blackened stones. The ditch has also cut through what seems to be a bloomery - slag on one side of kiln and on the other side of the road. Location between Ascoile and Balnacoil, just before the bend in the road.
See assoc. docs. File.

J Aitken : 11/04/01.
