Full Description

Thumbnail Photo of building at township
Wester Ross Project - Cathy Dagg, 03/04

Crofting township laid out on the low ground east of the Sand Burn. The present inhabited houses and new buildings are almost entirely along the road or along ‘Sand Passage’ running SW from the road. Along the east boundary, and spread across the area south of the croft lands are a number of buildings and enclosures probably representing a wider pre-improvement settlement. These survive mostly as low rubble footings, although some are more substantial. There are also a number of abandoned 19th century croft houses.
