Full Description

NH82SE 2 8604 2492.

At NH 8604 2492 is a circular stone-walled hut measuring 12.5m between the centres of a peat-obscured wall spread to c. 2.5m. Immediately W of the ill-defined entrance in the SE, the wall expands to about 5.5m. It is possible that this is due to field clearance piled against the hut wall but it could be an expansion of the wall itself though there is too much peat covering it to be sure.
The hut occurs within a field system poorly defined by stone clearance heaps overgrown by peat.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (J M) 17 April 1974.
