In the area centred at NN 679996, there are the remains of twenty four buildings, two corn-drying kilns at NN 6774 9977 and NN 6793 9949, six small enclosures, and several field walls. The buildings vary in size from 7.0m by 3.3m to 14.0m by 4.5m, with internal divisions.
Approximately 500.0m east of this group, in the area centred at NN 684 995, are the remains of ten buildings, maximum size 18m by 4m, three small enclosures and several field walls, which are situated around two modern buildings, roofed but deserted.
A further group of three buildings and one small enclosure are situated in the area centred at NN 680 998, adjacent to a modern sheepfold These three groups form the depopulated settlement of Glenbanchor, deserted 1874 (Information from Captain J H Macpherson, Dunmore, Newtonmore, Inverness-shire).
Visited by OS (N K B) 28 September 1965.

There are two townships, two farmsteads, and several limekilns at Glenbanchor. The farm of Glenbanchor, as depicted on the Duke of Gordon?s estate map of 1771 (SRO RHP 1835), includes all these structures within its bounds, but unfortunately no detailed plan survives. However, the accompanying survey notes state that there were two townships, namely east and west Glenbanchor (SRO CR8/195). It is presumed that the township on the east bank of the Allt Fionndrigh is West Glenbanchor (NN69NE 3.01) and that East Glenbanchor (NN69NE 3.02) is the township to the E of the small unnamed burn that runs between the two. Both townships and one of the farmsteads (NN69NE 3.01, 3.02, 3.03) are depicted on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1872, Sheet ci).
