Full Description

An axe of indurated sand-stone was presented to the NMAS by Robert H Paterson, S.S.C., in March 1906. The axe, 6 ins long by 2 1/2 ins greatest breadth and polished towards the cutting edge had been found near Dulnain Bridge. <1>

This findspot was included in a desk-based assessment carried out in November 2007 in advance of water main renewal works. Although the findspot would not be affected by the works, it indicates potential for further prehistoric activity in the area. <2>
