Full Description

NMRS Report: (12/08/2005)
NG23NE 8001 c. 284 360
N57 20 W6 30.8

NLO: Rubha Garbh [name: NG 284 360]
Wiay [name centred NG 295 365]
Loch Bracadale [name centred NG 285 380].

See also NG23NE 8002.

Material reported under RoW amnesty (2001):
A3531 1 porthole (complete with deadlight), 1 steering wheel (13ins diameter), maker's steering wheel (23ins diameter), 1 bell (5ins high): from seabed.
(No identity or descriptive details cited: location cited as 'close to western extremity of Wiay Islan, Skye').
NMRS, MS/829/35.

These remains appear consistent with those of the Harmonia (NG23NE 8002), a barque of substantial size wrecked on the island in 1869. The absence of any record of a name on the bell is regrettable.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 12 August 2005.
