13 August 1885, HANSOM, 16 yrs old, not registered, wooden lugger, 15 tons, 5 crew. Master and Owner W. Thompson, Buckie. Departed Buckie for fishing, in ballast. Wind NNE9, stranded Portmahomack Bay, Co. Ross.

(Classified as wooden lugger, in ballast: registration number cited as BF 213 and date of loss as 13 August 1885). This vessel stranded in Portmahomack Bay.

Portmahomack Bay is not noted as such on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map. The name presumably applies to the well-defined indentation in front of Portmahomack village.
