25 January 1886, HAWK, 6 years old, not registered, wooden lugger, 3 tons, 4 crew. Master and Owner C. Macdonald, Broadford, Skye. Departed Broadford for fishing, in ballast. Sank, subsequently raised and repaired, 3 lives lost. Wind NE6, S. Point of Raasay Island, Co. Inverness.

The 'South point of Raasay' is presumably to be identified as Rubha na Cloiche [name: NG 563 337], which projects into Caol Mor [name centred: NG 580 335]. This incident is not noted by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably omn account of the subsequent refloating of the vessel.
